Dear Readers,
Welcome to Volume 1, Issue 9 of the Sustainable Transport and Mobility eJournal. This month’s issue is packed with good news. From the articles published in the eJournal it is clear that the sustainable transport and mobility sector is making great strides. Firstly the South African National Department of Transport (DoT) has announced that they have completed a detailed investment programme of action for the South African rail network. Through this programme of action they have already identified three high-speed rail links for development.Click here to read the article.
The article, “Freight Forwarders and Corporate Social Responsibility” highlights how corporate social responsibility is increasingly being taken seriously by freight forwarders who are responsible for organising the international movement of goods by road, sea or air. A general aviation engine that is able to power a light aircraft and a new decade for sustainable transport in Asia are discussed in the other two articles in the eJournal.
The articles raise valid and possibly contentious issues. Please feel free to utilise the ‘comments’ facility linked to each article to express your views.
We hope that you enjoy this selection of articles for September and please mail us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it if you have any ideas, suggestions or submissions for future issues.
