eJournal Volume 1 Issue 7

Dear Readers,

The theme of this issue is Thinking for Tomorrow. The articles highlight that for a sustainable future to be realised we need to move away from a dependence on non renewable oil resources.  The eJournal highlights how solar powered planes, electric cars and an efficient reliable transport system are fundamental in the journey towards sustainable mobility.

In the eJournal, we explore how the European Standardisation Organisations bodies in a bid to prepare for the future are developing a common charging system for electric cars, scooters and bicycles.

We also look at the visions of ten architects from various countries who believe that our cities need a makeover and that transport and mobility are crucial components in the renovation process.

Regards,

Mabel

The Sustainable Transport and Mobility Handbook Vol 2

The Sustainable Transport and Mobility Handbook is the definitive guide for the broader transport sector that deals with issues of sustainability, efficiency and the environment.

Volume 2 of the Sustainable Transport and Mobility Handbook draws from the success of Volume 1 and from the Sustainable Transport and Mobility Conference held in 2010 at Gallagher Estate. The publication's profile has been further increased within academic, research and consulting circles with the advent of a Peer-Review Board which reviewed, approved and submitted for publication no less than half of the approximately 16 chapters in the Handbook, thereby offering more value for industry and professional readers. This means that the publication can be more widely recommended (and used) as a reference source and as a learning text for related education institutions, providing more value for readers and advertisers.
