Freeworld Automotive Coatings

Company Profile

Freeworld Automotive Coatings lead the way in SA

Freeworld Automotive Coatings has been respected as South Africa’s leading manufacturer and marketer of automotive coatings systems for over 50 years. Directly servicing the international motor manufacturers operating in South Africa, Freeworld also services the vehicle refinishing aftermarket, through its extensive distributor network.

In addition to its own brands Plascon Acryline, Plascon 2K, Cargoline and Flowline, under license to DuPont Performance Coatings, the company manufactures, markets and distributes premium international brands Standox and Spies hecker. Freeworld’s most recent accomplishments have been their approvals and co-operation with both motor and fleet manufactures, as well as their ongoing research and development and eco-friendly, time-saving refinish technologies.

Acryline
Acryline has been the automotive coating of choice of Africa’s leading commercial operators since 1985.
Hardworking fleets using Acryline have demonstrated the product’s extreme durability, long-lasting gloss and good scratch resistance while its ultra-smooth finish ensures low dirt collection and easy maintenance. Acryline also has approvals from a number of leading CV manufacturers and offers a five year warranty. And to add to the prestige of the brand, SAB has recently selected Acryline as its automotive coating of choice.

Standox
South African refinishers have relied on Standox’s premium quality products, service and support back-up for close to three decades. With global approval from 38 of the world’s leading motor manufacturers, it is clear that this is a brand at the forefront of automotive coatings technology.
The first to introduce waterborne and UV technology, refinishers have been impressed by Standox’s user-friendly systems, delivering exceptional quality and significant time savings.

Spies Hecker
Freeworld has been manufacturing Spies Hecker products in SA for over 25 years and with an extensive network of distributors in place, refinishers have access to its full range of easy-to-use products and services. Accredited for use by 36 of the world’s leading motor manufacturers, Spies Hecker’s products all undergo the strictest quality checks and conform to the highest international industry standards.

Thanks to the longstanding association with DuPont Performance Coatings, Freeworld is able to research and develop the latest finish technology locally, backed by international expertise and experience.

The Sustainable Transport and Mobility Handbook Vol 2

The Sustainable Transport and Mobility Handbook is the definitive guide for the broader transport sector that deals with issues of sustainability, efficiency and the environment.

Volume 2 of the Sustainable Transport and Mobility Handbook draws from the success of Volume 1 and from the Sustainable Transport and Mobility Conference held in 2010 at Gallagher Estate. The publication's profile has been further increased within academic, research and consulting circles with the advent of a Peer-Review Board which reviewed, approved and submitted for publication no less than half of the approximately 16 chapters in the Handbook, thereby offering more value for industry and professional readers. This means that the publication can be more widely recommended (and used) as a reference source and as a learning text for related education institutions, providing more value for readers and advertisers.
